Swachh Bharat Mission
The Swachh Bharat initiative started with 45 households of Hyderabad intending to eradicate open defecation. Convincing people about using the toilet was strenuous. To spread awareness among the people, Harsha preached them about the problems of open defecation and discussed the importance of having a toilet in every house. Soon after that, the construction work of the toilet started and within 30 days, it changed the plight of the people of Forty-five households.
The initiative did not stop there. In 2016, Harsha noticed that Ranga Reddy district was lagging in cleanliness in comparison with other districts and he took a step forward to propose a plan for the Swachh Bharat Mission. Starting from Mandal level meetings to conducting talks with the youth of the district, he tried to understand the root of the problem and convinced everyone to work along with him. 30 villages were chosen from 8 Mandals to make it open defecation free. After lots of effort, dedication, and hard work, finally, the work finished within 120 days with the help of the government officials and of course the public.
